Jewellery Care & Repairs
Jewellery Care Guide
We want you to love and enjoy your jewellery for as long as possible. Every piece is carefully checked before leaving us, and we are always happy to help where we can.
Jewellery is delicate by nature, and proper care plays an important role in maintaining its appearance and longevity.
Our jewellery is made from a variety of materials, including stainless steel, gold-filled and sterling silver. Please follow the care instructions relevant to your piece.
General Jewellery Care
- Remove before showering, swimming, sleeping and exercising
Removing your jewellery during these activities helps reduce exposure to water, sweat, friction and accidental catching.
- Avoid perfumes, lotions, fake tan and beauty products
These products can affect the finish of jewellery over time. We recommend applying beauty products before putting your jewellery on and allowing them to dry fully first.
- Avoid chemicals and cleaning products
Household cleaners, chlorine and other chemicals can cause damage, discolouration or fading.
- Store your jewellery carefully
Keep jewellery somewhere clean and dry when not being worn. Where possible, store pieces separately to prevent scratching and tangling.
- Handle your jewellery gently
Avoid pulling, tugging or catching chains, clasps and charms on clothing or other objects.
Stainless Steel Jewellery
- Water-resistant and tarnish-resistant
Many of our pieces are made from high-quality stainless steel, chosen for its durability and resistance to tarnishing. While stainless steel is highly durable, prolonged exposure to water, chemicals and friction can still affect its appearance over time.
- Avoid prolonged contact with perfumes, lotions, fake tan and chemicals
These can affect the finish of your jewellery and may cause discolouration over time.
Gold-Plated Stainless Steel
- Gold plating can naturally fade over time
Our gold-plated stainless steel pieces have a gold-coloured coating over the stainless steel base. With regular wear, this coating will naturally become lighter or fade.
- Water, chemicals, perfume and friction can speed up fading
Removing your jewellery before showering, swimming and applying beauty products will help prolong the finish. Gold plating fading through normal wear is not considered a manufacturing fault.
Gold-Filled Jewellery
- Made with a substantial layer of genuine gold
Gold-filled jewellery has a substantial layer of genuine gold bonded to a base metal, making it significantly more durable than traditional gold plating and suitable for long-lasting wear.
- Still requires care
Although gold-filled jewellery is designed for long-lasting wear, we recommend removing it before showering, swimming and exercising where possible and avoiding perfumes, lotions, fake tan and harsh chemicals.
- Store somewhere clean and dry
When not being worn, keep your gold-filled jewellery somewhere dry and away from other pieces that could scratch it.
Sterling Silver Jewellery
- Made from genuine 925 sterling silver
Sterling silver is a beautiful and durable precious metal, but it can naturally tarnish over time.
- Tarnishing is completely normal
Exposure to air, moisture, perfume, lotions and other products can cause sterling silver to darken. This does not mean your jewellery is damaged.
- Use a soft silver polishing cloth
Gently polish your sterling silver jewellery when needed to remove tarnish and restore its shine.
- Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners
These can scratch or damage the surface of your jewellery.
Beaded Bracelets
- ROLL ON & OFF — DO NOT STRETCH
When putting your beaded bracelet on or taking it off, gently roll it over your hand and onto or off your wrist. Do not pull the bracelet apart or overstretch it.
- Repeated stretching can weaken the elastic
Our beaded bracelets are made using elastic, which can weaken over time if repeatedly stretched. This may eventually cause the elastic to snap.
- Remove before showering, swimming and exercising
This helps reduce the amount of water, sweat and movement placing stress on the elastic.
- Avoid pulling or catching the beads
Beaded jewellery should be handled gently to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the elastic or beads.
Charm Bar Jewellery
- Our Charm Bar jewellery is custom assembled by hand
Each charm is attached using a small jump ring, which is a secure but delicate connection point.
- Take extra care when wearing knitwear or chunky clothing
Charms and jump rings can catch on clothing and may open if pulled or snagged.
- Remove before sleeping, showering, swimming and exercising
This helps reduce the risk of snagging, pulling and damage.
- If a charm becomes detached, contact us
Please send us a clear photo and we will assess whether the charm can be reattached or whether another solution is available.
A jump ring opening or charm becoming detached due to catching, pulling or impact is generally considered normal wear and tear rather than a manufacturing fault.
Personalised Charm Bar Jewellery
- Your Charm Bar piece is personalised especially for you
Each piece is made to your individual choices, including the bracelet or necklace, charms and connectors you select.
- Personalised Charm Bar jewellery cannot be exchanged or returned for change of mind
As your Charm Bar jewellery is made specifically to your chosen design, we are unable to accept exchanges or returns simply because you have changed your mind.
- Please check your choices before your jewellery is completed
We will show you your selected charms and design before completing your piece, so please make sure you are happy with your choices before we assemble your jewellery.
- Faulty items are different
This does not affect your statutory consumer rights if your personalised jewellery is faulty or does not meet the required standard.
Manufacturing Faults
- Contact us within 30 days of purchase
If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing fault, please contact us within 30 days of purchase, whether your item was purchased online or in store.
- Please provide proof of purchase where available
This may be your order confirmation, receipt or other proof of purchase, together with clear photos of the issue.
- We will assess the issue individually
If the item is found to have a manufacturing fault, we will offer an appropriate resolution, which may include a repair or replacement.
After 30 Days
- Issues reported after 30 days will be assessed individually
After 30 days, we will consider the age and condition of the item, how it has been worn and the nature of the issue before deciding whether it appears to be a manufacturing fault or general wear and tear.
- Jewellery worn for several weeks or months is not automatically eligible for a free replacement
Jewellery naturally experiences wear through regular use. We cannot automatically replace jewellery that has been worn for a period of time and has subsequently become damaged through general wear and tear.
- General wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing fault
This can include chains breaking after catching or pulling, jump rings opening, clasps becoming worn, scratches or surface marks, gold plating fading, sterling silver tarnishing and elastic weakening through repeated stretching.
- Accidental damage and misuse are not considered manufacturing faults
Damage caused by snagging, pulling, stretching, impact, chemicals, water exposure or failure to follow the care instructions may be considered general wear and tear or accidental damage.
Where possible, we are always happy to assess an item and advise whether a repair is possible. We may also be able to offer a replacement or repair at a reduced cost.
Please note: this policy does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Repairs
- Contact us with clear photos of the damage
Please provide your proof of purchase where available and photos showing the item and the issue.
- We will assess whether a repair is possible
Some pieces can be repaired, while others may not be depending on the design, materials or nature of the damage.
We will always do our best to offer a helpful solution wherever we can.
